when browsing through old photos, one usually has a stronger relationship to a photo when it contains their presence. however, documenting one’s self in a photo is not an easy task – there usually needs to be a second party to document these social events, and they also would have to be excluded from picture. the ‘duo’ camera by taiwanese designer chin-wei liao splits in half, and integrates synchronized triggers to capture the moment. the concept invites users to engage in the photo-taking process by being both photographer and subject at the same time. once photographed, the images come together as two, bringing both shots together into one shot.
