studio joran briand designs resin coated candy guitar for la femme

studio joran briand was approached by ateliers seewhy to initiate their project ‘a designer, a guitar’ which proposes to associate design and lute-making. ‘candy’ was born of the collaboration, made for french psycho-rock band la femme. to create the guitar, a hand-shaped maple form is dipped like a caramel apple into a resin bath. the glazing, bright surface is a nod to the sound of the band, and evokes the spontaneous energy they’re known for.
