the japanese architect has envisioned a suspended woodland, with trees planted inside mirrored boxes that hang from the ceiling, reflecting and projecting what is typically associated with the external landscape, indoors. setting the ideal backdrop for cassina’s products, ‘floating forest’ emphasizes the clear association between the brand and its relationship with the outside world, while at the same time recalling its long held heritage in carpentry workmanship.

sou fujimoto has rediscovered cassina’s natural origins, eliminating walls and ceilings, and replacing them with weightless trees that envision a future in a home environment where design and innovation are intensified by a natural setting.
