’10-unit system’ by shigeru ban

shigeru ban presents his new ’10-unit system’ for artek at the ‘one chair is enough’ exhibition, during the milan design week 09.

based on l-shaped units, this modular system can be combined in all sorts of ways to make furniture – a chair, a table, a bench. it is made of wood plastic composite (produced by forestry company UPM) from recycled paper and plastic, an environmentally sustainable material which was first introduced by shigeru ban at the artek pavilion ‘space of silence’ in milan, 2007.
