for walt disney japan, nendo has designed a vibrantly colored collection of tables based on the childhood animated feature ‘winnie the pooh and friends’. using natural-feel maple timber extensively in the design of each whimsically oriented form that makes up the ‘pooh-tables’ reflects the stories’ setting in the hundred acre wood. each distinct piece comes in sizes and silhouettes intended to recall the family of animal characters; colored knit cladding from cool grays to warm yellows wrap different parts of the tables, subtly indicating each character through their distinctive clothes, hair and tails, while playfully suggesting that the tables are like stuffed animals, too.
