the noktuku moss clock contains the tops of real reindeer moss from norway, bringing an added dimension of nature into the home.  the circular frame is hand made of strips of 1.5-meter baltic birch plywood with a laser engraved logo using steam bending techniques and has a single connection joint in the layers. it takes about two kilograms of raw untreated moss to produce one clock. the moss is hand selected and only the very tops are used in the making of the clock and requires no watering for it to be preserved. think of it as a dried flower except for the sponge – like properties of the moss it stays flexible and squishy at all times. noktuku is a studio based in rotterdam, where they focus on CNC fabrication methods and create custom designs by request.
