as the coupling of social media and technology continue to redefine photography, the morpholio project has turned toward research on the possibilities of filtering and other transformations of imagery. ‘frame’, the group’s latest smartphone app for creatives, uses a ‘matrix’ approach to rethink photo filters. the software application ultimately ‘offers over 64 million unique filter combinations driven by both user expertise and exploration,’ mark collins, co-creator at the morpholio project. ‘the app begins by offering its signature matrix of photo filters and masks, allowing you to apply up to six at a time. each one transforms your image and together they offer entirely new dimensions and effects.’
