conveniently inserting an ice-bucket into the middle of the table, lisbon-based designer miguel mestre has created ‘the dine’. the project seeks to help foster a sense of connection between people in a relaxed environment. constructed marine plywood, the furniture offers a neutral role in this social activity, making it easily adaptable to any kind of situation. furthermore, the built-in ice bucket is readily accessible to everyone, while also ensuring the beverages remain chilled. the drinks holder can simply be taken out when the ice has melted, or a cork at the end can be pulled to let it drain, making it possible to reuse the water for other purposes.
