referencing the structure of a typical tree house, the break out furniture by malcew provides a place for contemplation and focus. designed specifically for a co-working office space in an old warehouse in singapore, the flexible pieces offer a variety of different arrangements – with their large cushions easily taken out and spread across the room. depending on the desired task being performed, the modular ‘tree houses’ can be joined together for impromptu meetings or positioned separately to create a sense of privacy without fully being enclosed. the white oak finish further enhances their natural aesthetic, with the ‘houses’ themselves acting as space dividers, marking different neighborhoods within the high-ceiling office plan.
