basketball stool + storage unit by joong han leeall images courtesy joong han lee
having observed people’s subconscious tendency of sitting on balls while resting after playing sports, eindhoven-based designer joong han lee of studio homunculus has developed ‘bucket’ a steel-frame structure to accommodate and exaggerate the in-situ position. when flipped up-side down and the ball is placed on top, the volume is transformed into an ergonomic stool. when not in use, ‘bucket’, which references the typology of basketball hoops, can be utilized as storage, where larger sized variations can be used as bar stools, or accommodate more space for equipment.
when inverted, a ball can be placed on top to be used as a stool
‘bucket’ can be used as a storage for basketballs and soccer balls
the unit can also serve as a display case for signed memorabilia
the form is influenced by the basketball hoop
‘bucket’ comes in two different sizes
