dutch designer weis preijde has created hand-woven ‘walls’ of thread – patterned to create spaces that appear three-dimensional. the installation is made up of various yarn-woven walls creating a playful trompe l’oeil.
the mass of lines and colors throughout the meandering passageways gives the audience a sense of lightness and translucency – generating a holographic effect. the thousands of openings created from the threaded dividers create an illusory transparency inviting the observer’s curiosity – encouraging them to move around in the installation and discover and experience the various color combinations and patterns which make up the space.
