american director wes anderson is renowned for his distinctively illustrative and narrative films, threading common themes, colors and motifs throughout the intricately crafted scenes in his movies. the recent release of ‘the grand budapest hotel’, anderson’s latest flick, has encouraged a number of artists and designers to appropriate his symbolism and style into their own work, creating videos and stills characteristic to the filmmaker’s trademark videography.

luis enrique rayas has created a short movie which manipulates various clips from some of anderson’s best known features into psychedelic and prismatic kaleidoscopes. twisting and whirling the woodland character’s faces from ‘fantastic mr. fox’ and sepia-toned scenery from ‘the royal tenenbaums’, ‘wes anderson // kaleidoscoped’ turns the landscapes, actors and sets into warped and fantastic reinterpretations of themselves. rayas originally sourced the visuals from kogonada, an artist who revealed the symmetry anderson favors in scenes through his film ‘wes anderson // centered’, which you can see below and here.
