from now until august 16th, 2014 galeria fortes vilaça in são paulo hosts the expansive exhibit of the work of OSGEMEOS. ‘ópera da lua’ (the opera of the moon) presents new pieces held within an immersive environment, where the twins’ narrative world takes on an alternate dimension.

the show encompasses the artists’ singular style and trademark themes through thirty paintings, three sculptures and a 3-D video installation. amongst the pieces is the largest sculpture ever made by the artists, which sits within a vibrantly colored room filled with various painted patterns and characters. the exhibit exudes a nature of fantasy and imagination, putting the viewer in a kaleidoscope-like setting where various, surreal images from different origins are overlaid and reflected on a multicolored palette.

the translation of OSGEMEOS’ work from streets to museums has allowed the artists to add light, sound and movement to their otherwise stationary artworks. it was at the same gallery in 2006 that the artist’s presented their first solo show in são paulo. this third exhibition puts special importance on sculpture, bringing their paintings into the third dimension. the artworks are connected by doors and windows, constructing a large immersive, yet intimate environment within the exhibition space. the paintings are categorizes by unusual geometries and dimensions, exploring various contexts, textures and stories for their characters.
