cosmos collaborative project with risto bimbiloski ast scope miami, november 2010
the work of vancouver-based french artist nicolas sassoon makes use of computer-based aesthetics to generate fantasized visions of architectures, landscapes and domestic environments to bring viewers into a trance. his work benefits from stylized pseudo-retro aesthetics, characterized by bright colors, moving patterns, and bitmap quality. the undulating pixels, through their disorienting movement, may create in viewers a sense of anxiety, a concern that their computer screens might have stopped working.
