british conceptual artist lenka clayton has arranged ‘confetti stack’ from 18,180 individual paper sheets. configured in a straight vertical line, the free-standing sculptural form towers overhead as if performing a careful balancing act. the colorful circles are miniature — with a diameter of only 1.5cm — and have been intricately amassed one on top the other, forming a kaleidoscope of collected confetti material. spanning 190cm (over 6 feet) into the air, the vibrant paper pole seemingly defies gravity, imposing over visitors to the CEAAC in strasbourg, france where it is currently being exhibited as part of the ‘seymour’ show.
