paris based artist daniel firman’s (b. 1966) exhibition ‘backflip’ opens today in the galerie emmanuel perrotin, paris. his sculpture pieces are dominantly people without faces used as a medium instead of a subject or common objects collected and seemingly attached to one another that defy gravity. all of his work seems to exist in a moment perfectly balanced between action and inaction where the pieces sit comfortably inviting the viewer to question the intense amount of realism.
