deep in the mountains of northern norway, rotterdam-based architect vladimir konovalov designs the infinity house for those who prefer a quiet retreat in nature, surrounded by the lush norwegian landscape. the designer cleverly uses raw materials in building the home in order to create a symbiosis between the infinity house and its surrounding environment.

vladimir konovalov’s infinity house consists of three main elements — the exterior concrete superstructure, black concrete infinity pool on the roof, and a black box with a bathroom and a hidden staircase. the house is designed as one open space where the living room, kitchen and bedroom are illuminated by the large windows that blur the boundary between interior and exterior.

the interiors are subtle and have predominantly monochrome tones as to not be a distraction from the ever changing light and colors of the ravishing nature encompassing the house. in its subtlety, the bathroom contains the hidden staircase that leads to the 21m infinity pool situated on the roof. the heated pool is divided in two areas — the swimming lane and the resting bath, providing various recreational opportunities for the owners.
