situated on the shores of hudøy, a norwegian island in the skagerrak strait, international architecture and design studio snøhetta has reconstructed a boat house intended for local youth groups. the structure serves as both overnight accommodation, housing an assortment of colorful sleeping bays, and a social arena, encouraging interaction and engagement between its occupants.
seating positioned at the entrance to the scheme provides an external area for both recreation and contemplation

the gabled cabin is constructed from timber and clad in vertical slats that offer inhabitants glimpses of activity across the water. internally, a mezzanine level provides additional floor space, while the provision of seating positioned at the entrance to the scheme provides an external area for both recreation and contemplation.
