ordos 100: encore heureux architects and G studio architects
young french architectural firms encore heureux and G studio architects worked together to create ‘gourbi palace’, a villa for the ordos 100 project in mongolia, china. designed to adjust to the continental climate the villa does not use any air conditioning. using proven techniques and local material the building is designed with solid bricks using an aleveolar structure for its outer walls. the material of brick was chosen as it is self insulating, can control air humidity and guarantee breathability of inner walls. the project is due for completion in september 2009.
