méctamo designs KAI artist residency in peru’s sacred valley

nestled amongst the mountains of cusco, peru, otherwise known as the sacred valley of the incas, is the ‘KAI’ artist residency. designed by lima-based studio méctamo, the program is enveloped in a land of rich natural beauty and ancient cultural heritage.

the complex provides living and work facilities for four creatives at any given time, grouped in a cluster of buildings on a 2,800m² plot. construction relies on local techniques and spatial organization — with updated sustainability measures — supporting the development of its inhabitants diverse artistic needs.
