the heart of the treviso in northern italy is occupied by buildings that have experienced various interventions in recent centuries. the town is characterized by its venetian walls that house a monumental center surrounded by botanical gardens. adding to this context, massimo galeotti has renovated a residence titled ‘casa fiera’.

the project aims to renovate and complement the pre-existing structure of the house with a small volume. in order to do fulfill this vision, wooden slats were selected as the main material. the pieces expose their natural qualities while forming the façades and sloping roof. this not only enhances the houses artistic quality, but also completes the geometry and underlines differences between the old and new architectures. meanwhile, the interior is a visual continuation of the soft brown color palette. the furnishings, the flooring, and the ceiling display an extensive use of timber alongside a wall of brick and mortar that has been maintained from the original function of the space. all of these characteristics are highlighted by windows that frame views of the city, especially towards the nearby church.
