unlike the many hotels scattered around the famous lake, the patricia urquiola‘s design of il serenno moves away from the faux renaissance and neoclassical style associated with the region. the architecture is complemented with a landscape greenery with two vertical gardens and specially created artworks. inside the 30 spacious suites feature floor-to-ceiling windows, all with large private terraces facing onto the waterfront.

at the heart of the hotel, an original stairwell serves as one of many focal points around the property. constructed with natural materials including walnut wood, the large steps are encased in bronze and effortlessly ‘float’ as the lobby’s centerpiece. urquiola’s style and furniture collaborations is recognized throughout, resulting in a contemporary interior to foster a relaxed, peaceful sanctuary for guests.
