nearly 3,000 pieces of white ash timber were used in the construction of the ‘home in house’ exhibition by architect hiroyuki shinozaki for milan design week 2015. the installation featured various past buildings designed by shinozaki, along with various furniture designs and art works by: fumitaka kudo, ayumi kudo, izumi okayasu, and hiomatsu furniture inc. models were constructed at various sizes, ranging from 1:1, to 1:20. by placing the structures inside one another their individuality can be overlooked, allowing for a unique experience of the universality of architectural composition and process.
