at germany’s southern-most tip, architect gian salis has built a two-storey home on an inclined site surrounded by wildlife. with potential sightlines towards the nearby swiss city of basel, the client desired an affordable home which offered sweeping external views. a garage and workshop are housed at basement level, with bedrooms above oriented to face the adjacent valley. spacious living accommodation is found at the uppermost storey, with an adjoining terrace overlooking the rooftops below.
