surrounded by rivers and canals, this simple two-storey dwelling in the mexican state of morelos has been completed by local practice GBF taller de arquitectura. named ‘casa RGT’, the property contains two bedrooms — the larger of which adjoins a private terrace cantilevered above a ravine. the second bedroom includes a small loft, designed to increase the room’s capacity.

the design team sought to create a structure that appeared as an adaptation of its surroundings, using materials such as steel, aluminum, OSB and — most prominently — board formed concrete. conceived as a place for rest and relaxation, the residence also includes a number of areas configured for recreation. consequently, a communal patio capable of hosting barbecues and bonfires is positioned in front of the home’s primary façade.
